Located in Squamish, BC, this day hike offers spectacular views from the Summit Plaza up top. As this destination is quite popular, it is advised that you arrive at the parking lot early to beat the crowds!

If you are feeling lazy, you can purchase a uploading and a downloading ticket to bring you to and from the Summit Plaza up top via the gondola. For those who are feeling energetic, continue on to the trailhead marked as the Sea to Summit Trail/Backside Chief Trail. This trail will split into the Backside Chief Trail (leading to the Stawamus Chief) and the Upper Shannon Falls Trail (gaining 916 m). Make the right turn onto the Upper Shannon Falls Trail. A second junction will be met at about 4-5 km into the hike. Turning right will bring you onto the Shannon Basin Loop (easier), whereas turning left will bring you onto the Upper Sea to Summit Trail (harder). Either one will lead you to the top! If you want to be challenged, about half way up the Upper Sea to Summit Trail you will notice another trail called the Upper Sea to Summit Ascent Trail, which is more technical in terms of hiking.

Once atop, you can either hike back down, hike the numerous trails that lead in all directions, eat an entire plate of sweet potato fries, or buy a downloading ticket for ~$10.

*There are some technical parts of this hike that requires a bit of climbing and rope assists (especially on the Upper Sea to Summit Ascent Trail).

*There are some great areas for taking breaks (i.e. waterfalls), so take your shoes off and give your feet a break in the crystal clear waters of British Columbia!
