The Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR) is situated along the Seymour River within Lynn Valley. Making your way towards Lynn Canyon, continue on Lynn Valley Road on the west side of the Seymour River where you will find ample parking before the Rice Lake Road Bridge. Walk or bike across the bridge and you will begin your adventure on the LSCR.

The LSCR is well paved and continues for about 10 km down to the Seymour Dam and the Seymour Fish Hatchery where one can feel free to take a stroll and look at the salmon being bred.

The LSCR has an elevation gain of only 100 m at about the 7 km mark along the road before it descends 70 m to the conclusion of the road.

Alternatively, if one does not wish to visit the dam or the hatchery, you will reach a fork in the road where turning left brings you to the places mentioned, but continuing straight will lead you towards the Seymour River. You will soon see a beach of rocks that make a good place to make a pit stop and eat lunch, while watching wildlife and listening to the water flow.

*It can be noted that taking the #228 or #229 will take you to Lynn Valley Center where it is only a 20-minute walk to the trailhead. If you don't feel like starting your adventure early, you can then transfer onto #227, which will take you to Peters Road. It is then a 5-10 minute walk uphill to the road leading you to the Rice Lake Road Bridge.

* If you're frustrated, just take the #227 all the way to the gates of Lynn Canyon Park and explore there!
