A popular hike among Vancouverites and locals, this destination is quite busy from spring all the way to fall! Driving along Highway 99, you will see the parking space available at the Stawamus Chief Provincial Park; hiker should park just off of Highway 99 at the day-use area just south of Squamish. After parking, hike into the access road and into the Provincial Park through a campsite area to the trailhead.

The trailhead is well-marked and is hard to get lost on, but this does not mean one should under pack and be any less responsible.

As you gain elevation on the chief you will come across a section where a decision has to be made on whether you want to visit the first, second or third peak. The first peak trail is on the left leading pass a large boulder. The second and third peak can be reached quite easily with the guidance of markers. With that said, the second and third peaks are more challenging than the first peak.

*If you are a climber, please do more research before attempting to climb the face of the chief.

*It is important to note that getting too close to the edge of the cliff by the peaks is not recommended as many have fallen off, but you don't need me to tell you that. You're all smart people I'm sure!

*This hike is definitely family friendly, but do know that there are sections of the hike that require rope assists.
